Configuration and Deployment
Deploy OTserver and its scanner on Docker, Linux, or Windows with explicit secrets, interfaces, and authorization.
Use the repository’s Compose file for local development or its production Dockerfile with a private MongoDB service for deployment. Run each scanner close to the network it observes; Layer 2 discovery and raw sockets do not cross ordinary routed boundaries.
- Docker Compose: deploy the manager, initialize the administrator, persist data, and update an existing production instance.
- Linux and Raspberry Pi: install or build Otter, select an interface, and schedule scans with
CAP_NET_RAW. - Windows: install Otter and Npcap separately, verify the physical adapter, and validate the first scan.
